This first offering of regular waist belts is our most popular width, and our most popular design. All of our designs come out of Bill’s sketchbook, and this one is based on the early knotwork designs of the Celts. As a linear design, our research shows that the knotwork represented the weaving of the spirit through successive lifetimes, and many adventures along the way. The other design is the Futhark - a Viking alphabet of the 700s.

At Potomac Leather Company we make lots of different styles of belts. Bill was formally trained as a Western saddle maker, and strap goods are a mainstay in that trade. From the types of leather we use (English bridle leather is our favorite) to the quality of hardware we use, we do not scrimp on any part of our final product. The snaps are solid brass with an overlay of black. Many of the buckles are from the horse industry and are either solid brass, or solid brass with nickel plating for the silver-colored metal. 

  We have sold standard waist belts for years at the Renaissance Festival, and are now offering them for the first time on our website! This is the regular belt to wear with your jeans, over a skirt or tunic dress, on any other types of pants. 

This belt is 1 1/2” wide. The snaps on the belt allow you change buckles as you choose. We fit up to a 52” waist.
